All events require pre-event registration and are open to all Convention attendees unless otherwise noted. Items marked with an "*" do not have an associated registration fee.

All events are held at the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside unless otherwise noted. Visit the Sheraton Website to view floor plans to find room locations.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 29

Dress for Today: Casual. Attendees are encouraged to wear AKPsi apparel.

Yoga - Morning Jumpstart*
6:30 - 7:30 AM
Vinyasa yoga is the practice of linking breath with movement, flowing from one pose to the next. Jumpstart your day with Lisa and this moderately paced all-levels vinyasa class designed to help energize you for the day ahead and flush out any toxins lingering from the night before. The class will be suitable for newcomers and regular yoga practitioners alike, incorporating poses to strengthen your core, open your hips, and wring out your internal organs (twists) – all in an effort to help energize and detox the body, while increasing strength and flexibility. AKPsi Outing – Nauticus

Meet at Nauticus between 12:45 and 1:15 to receive ticket for entry.
Nauticus inspires and educates with engaging & interactive experiences that celebrate our connections with today's maritime world. Nauticus is a contemporary museum that uses the natural setting of Norfolk's harbor to showcase global maritime commerce and the world's largest Navy. Nauticus is an exciting interactive science and technology center that explores the naval, economic, and nautical power of the sea. Home of the Battleship Wisconsin, Nauticus features Battleship Wisconsin-related exhibits, hands-on exhibits, national-caliber traveling exhibits, HD films on a giant screen, sharks, the Hampton Roads Naval Museum, and more! Plan to spend 2 to 3 hours to tour the Hampton Roads Naval Museum and the third floor of Nauticus. 3 to 4 hours if you include the Battleship Wisconsin.

Additional registration fee applies.
Ticket price includes admission to attraction. Nauticus is within walking distance (0.4 mile) from the Convention hotel.

Convention registration materials are also available for pick up in the Convention Office for those attendees unable to make it to the Wednesday registration check-in.

Alumni Meet ‘n Greet*
6:00 – 8:00 PM
See old friends and meet new brothers at this reception only for alumni and their guests. A casual and fun atmosphere helps set the stage for the rest of the Convention. Light appetizers and a cash bar will be provided.

Delegate and Alternate Check-In

Delegates and alternate delegates check-in with their regional director to finalize credentials and to receive their ribbons.

THURSDAY, JULY 30

Dress for today: Professional dress, but you may dress business casual by making a $5 contribution to the Alpha Kappa Psi Foundation. Visit the Convention Office for your dress-down ribbon or contact a Foundation Director. Dress for the Nauticus Outing and Brothers Night Out is casual.

Committee Meetings
8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Committee Members will meet to discuss and finalize the legislation that will be presented to the Chapter Congress for consideration. Delegates and Alternate Delegates are assigned to specific committees based on the recommendation of the regional directors. A complete list of Committee assignments will be published prior to the start of the Convention.

Chapter Congress Meeting
1:00 – 6:00 PM
The roll of chapters is called, the Fraternity President gives the "State of the Fraternity” report, key issues are voted on and the new fraternity officers are elected. This event is required for all delegates and alternate delegates. All brothers are welcome to attend.

Brothers Night Out - Ocean View Fishing Pier
Ocean View Fishing Pier

7:00 – 10:00 PM
Buses begin departing at 7:00 PM from lobby of hotel. Those driving directly to the event are welcome to arrive beginning at 7:15 PM for entry to the event.
Overlooking the scenic Chesapeake Bay, Ocean View Fishing Pier offers the backdrop for this Brothers Night Out event. Enjoy the company of your brothers for dinner and dancing on the second floor, open-air deck, compete in a sand volleyball tournament or try your hand at fishing. Open to student, alumni and guests, ticket includes transportation, meal and soft drinks.

FRIDAY, JULY 31

Dress for Today: Business Casual. Dress for Alumni Night Out for men, appropriate attire includes slacks and a polo or button down shirt. For women, nice slacks, capri pants or a sundress. Although allowed, the Spirit of Norfolk strongly discourages collarless t-shirts, jeans, shorts or sneakers.

Sweeten your home decor with a colorful blown-glass bowl that holds your favorite candy.

Additional registration fee applies per class. Event fee includes admittance to the glass studio class and the piece you create (pieces will be available for pickup in the Convention Office Saturday afternoon). Transportation is included.

College of Leadership

The College of Leadership provides students and alumni with advanced chapter management and personal development skills. These dynamic sessions—focusing on advance team and chapter leadership, effective recruitment strategies, fundraising, and risk management—equip students with the tools needed to lead successful chapters. Additional personal and professional development sessions will encourage personal growth.

These programs are designed to be interactive discussions to give attendees the opportunities to learn and share ideas from business professionals, AKPsi leaders and chapters from across the Fraternity.

Attendees are to meet and being boarding at 7:00 PM at the Spirit. The cruise will leave at 7:30 and latecomers will be denied access to the event and will not be issued refunds.
Splash aboard the Spirit of Norfolk for the perfect mix of dining, entertainment and views. Enjoy dinner while you cruise the Elizabeth River and take in the sights of Hampton Roads.

Discover Colonial Williamsburg and become a citizen of the Revolutionary City. Meet the tradespeople, shopkeepers, political figures, women, and the enslaved that call Williamsburg home. Learn of their hopes, struggles, and fears in these uncertain times. As you explore the challenges of daily life set against the backdrop of revolution, get caught up in the historic moments taking place around you.

Included in the ticket cost is transportation to and from the Williamsburg, a tour and lunch in the tavern restaurant.

Mermaid Winery is Norfolk's first winery located in the charming Ghent neighborhood. The owners focus on producing small lots of well-balanced wines using Virginia grapes. The winemaking process can be viewed from the tasting bar or enjoy the beauty of Norfolk on their tasting patio.

Your ticket will include lunch and transportation. The option to purchase wine flights will be available on-site at the winery.

Foundation Donor Reception*

The Alpha Kappa Psi Foundation is hosting a complimentary donor reception in recognition of its loyal supporters. Come and meet the foundation's board of directors, mingle with fellow donors and meet the scholarship and grant recipients whom you have supported through your generous donations. This is an invitation-only event.

Reception sponsorships are also available for an additional $150 donation.

This is the grand finale to an extraordinary week! Fraternity officers are installed, the fraternity recognizes chapters and individuals for their achievements and attendees gather to celebrate the time spent as a brotherhood in Norfolk.
