During the second weekend of Alpha Kappa Psi’s Principled Business Leadership Institute (PBLI) held in Chicago, three teams competed for a chance to receive a monetary award to be used to progress their business plan.
Case Competition is designed to provide participants an opportunity to identify a social issue, create a business plan, consult with an expert in the field, and impact their community.
Using the United Nations’ Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as the framework for this competition, teams chose one of the seventeen goals described to identify their social issue. From there, they were vetted by experts in the field to identify which teams moved forward to round two, delivering the team’s sustainable startup business plan as a part of the Case Competition at PBLI.
Congratulations to the winning team:

H.O.P. (Helping Our Planet) is a healthy and unexpectedly delicious company ready to take the U.S. food product market by storm. Our company concept is relatively simple. H.O.P. will operate within the food products industry. We plan to utilize insect farm suppliers to obtain cricket protein flour. This flour will then be manufactured into protein-based rice meal. These revolutionary food products will rival existing competition, revolutionize consumption, and promote long-term sustainability.
The final round of Case Competition is scheduled for March 4 (San Francisco Bay Area).
