On June 27, 20 student members of Alpha Kappa Psi gathered in Morgantown, Indiana for the 9th annual Alpha Kappa Psi Academy. Throughout the four-day conference, these members focused on developing value-based leadership skills through a variety of hands-on activities, lecture and introspective review. Ethical decision making, collaboration, diversity and personal goal setting are a few of the topics covered in the program.
The custom-built curriculum was developed by Karyn Nishimura Sneath, Texas Tech ’04-Honorary, of Npower, a leadership consulting firm based in Indianapolis. On-site facilitation was provided by Karyn and Christopher Adkins-Lamb Texas Tech ’06-Honorary of Npower, as well as Academy Dean, Daniel J. Roselli, Michigan State ’89 Life and AKPsi Volunteer, Jhaymee Wilson, Virginia Tech ’00 and Director of Education Amanda Koerth.
Funded through the generous contributions of corporations, alumni and friends of Alpha Kappa Psi, the AKPsi Foundation is able to offer this experience at no cost to the student members.
