QUALIFICATIONS
Upon submission of first completed item from the requirements below, the applicant will have three (3) calendar years to complete and submit verification of the remaining requirements. If all requirements are not completed within the three (3) year period, all submitted verifications will expire and the applicant must reapply for the certificate. Requirements may be earned beginning January 1, 2010. Submission of verification(s) will be tracked at the Heritage Center. Once complete, the applicant will be issued a Certificate of Principled Leadership. Please allow four weeks for processing after final submission.

Brotherhood
Trust, respect, cooperation, companionship, and aid to Brother Members is the expected norm

Select from one of the following:
A - Alumni only task
S - Student only task
A/S – Alumni and student task

• Participate in mentorship program (A/S)
• Participate in or attend a chapter’s ritual (A)
• Participate on a chapter installation team (A/S – students of installing chapter do not qualify)
• Attend a chapter event (A)
• Present a session at the Principled Business Leadership Institute (A/S)
• Judge the Case Competition (A)
• Compete on a team in the Case Competition (S)
• Volunteer at an official AKPsi event (Convention, PBLI, etc.) (A/S)
• Hold a chapter officer position (A/S)
• Start an alumni chapter (A)
• Be a member of an alumni chapter (A)
• Be a member of the alumni association (A)
• Hold an official AKPsi volunteer position (A)
• Attend the Academy (S)
• Attend the Alumni Academy (A)
• Attend the Fraternity Advisors Conference (A)
• Hold an official position (committee chair, committee member, etc.) in a chapter (A/S)
• Participate in the Convention (A/S)

Unity
A common understanding of our vision and values that transcends chapter, generation, and profession is utilized to anticipate and create the future

Choose from one of the following:
A - Alumni only
S - Student only
A/S – Alumni and student

• Be a current donor to the Alpha Kappa Psi Foundation (gift made since July 1) (A/S)
• Hold an office or official position in a student or alumni chapter (A/S)
• Hold an official AKPsi volunteer position (A)

Integrity
All actions, whether in business or in life, are guided by honesty, ethics, and fairness

Read and sign the Alpha Kappa Psi Code of Ethics.

Submit the Alpha Kappa Psi Code of Ethics form.

Service
Sharing of time, talent, and treasure with both communities and with our Fraternity is a priority

Complete 24 hours of volunteer service for a 501c/not-for-profit organization and submit a signed verification form.

• Hours may include those that are performed in conjunction with a student or alumni chapter-organized service project
• Service hours may not include those benefiting an official AKPsi chapter or event (i.e. working at a PBLI, hours spent working as an official AKPsi volunteer, etc.)

Verification
Upon completion of service hours, submit a CPL Service Form to the Heritage Center. 7801 E. 88th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46256. Multiple forms may be submitted to obtain to total hours needed to fulfill requirements.

Knowledge
Education and experience, whether gained in the classroom or the workplace, is emphasized and shared
